When We Were Young

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

How exciting it was. Running, jumping, playing games.
The little girls played with baby dolls, the little boys played with
trucks.
The little girls wore dresses with bows in there hair.
Patten leather shoes, white ankle socks.
Mama said little girls don't get dirty, so they stood in one place.

Now, little boys wore play clothes, got them dirty with a dirty
face.
Played baseball, and football and even raced.
Mama said have fun, try not to get dirty.
As little girls watched little boys play.

Then one day the rules were changed, little girls came out in
there playing clothes.
The little boys watched as the little girls played, baseball, football,
and ran races.

Now we are grown up with equal rights. We can be a carpenter,
electritian changing lights.
We can climb trees for the phone and cable lines. We can be first in line instead of back out of sight.
On top of that, we can sew and cook. We can go for manicure, pedicures, and
have our hair done.
Some day we will run for President and change the whole world.
Move over boys, here come the girls.
