Blustery Cold Spring Day

Monday, March 23, 2009

So today is shining and it is just beautiful looking outside. Unfortunately in New England mother nature likes to give us a day in the 50's and then drop down to artic weather by nightfall. Today the windchill factors are in the teens.
I heard that it will be 60's by the end of the week..... Crazy.
I have been a nervous Nelly all weekend long. The marina that we keep our boat in Amesbury MA was taken over by the bank. So with the management up in the air we are moving our boat back down river to Newburyport. Lots of life, but noisy. We will be fine. But my PF membership that I have been holding on to is in Amesbury. Well, they are opening a PF in Newburyport that is a half a mile away and I can walk to it!!!! Half full Half full. Maybe the move will not be so scarey where I do not like changes and being back in the City part of the river will be better after all.
I am planning on heading to the gym tonight and using the saunna. It is so cold. I think I will even wear my cow jammies home.

First, you have GOT to take a picture of you in your cow jammies and post it! Sounds like too much fun to miss.

Second, once again, your positive attitude "glass half full, glass half full" is wonderful! I'm not a big fan of changes, especially unexpected ones, so it's always a struggle to find that silver lining when life suddenly switches gears on me.

Finally, I think it is great that you are/have been one of those folks who stands on teh sidelines and cheers for marathoners. I will never forget when I ran the Hood to Coast relay 12 years ago, all alone on at 3 a.m. on a drak forest land road. Up ahead was a light - a logger and his two kids bundled up in sleeping bags, lights pointing towards the road, lighting my way. As I slogged past they cheered and clapped like I was famous and fast, and it lifted me up like nothing else could have. Every time I think of them giving up the comfort of their warm beds to sit out in the cold and cheer for total strangers I feel like Balnche DuBois, and happily rely on the kindness of strangers.
