Personal Challenge Goal: (lose 20 LBS)
Start weight: 213.6 lbs
Current Weight 212.2 lbs. (down 1.4 and TOM)
I think I did OK this week with my own goals to start tracking more religiously and not looking daily at the scale. I did still peek, but I wasn't as bad as I used to be. I have to keep reminding myself that I do not need the scale's approval. I need to have my approval. When I have my approval and am happy with the food & workout decisions, I am happy & the weight goes away. I wasn't very motivated this week to do excersise but I did do some everyday. I tried to stay away from sitting on the sofa "vegging" by at least getting out.
This week I had a lot of time at a friend's house watching 2 of her children (and 1 of mine) and even more time with her, and all 6 of our children. Our kids are all the same age and were having a wonderful time playing. We got some housework & stuff done, great conversation, lunches for the crowd (yesterday was a short day at their school), and overall a very fun, relaxing yet exciting day. I realized that a SAHM's job never ends. You don't get respect from the outside world, you rarely get appreciated, and you don't get a financial pay check.... but you do get the opportunities to "visit" your child's field trip and sneak in some pictures, have a "spring party" cause it's an early dismissal, have 9 kids (yeah, we even took on 3 neighbor's kids) at the park (about a block away) for about an hour playing games, and sometimes you get a grateful kid that says "you're the best mommy!" which beats any financial paycheck or bonus I've ever received while working a regular job. So to all the ladies that choose to be a SAHM, way to go..... for all those who "have" to work, I know your pain too (it was less than a year ago I left the work force), but please realize, these SAHM are sacrificing the financial "extra" money to work full time for their kids and husband, and may even slide in some extra volunteer hours to make the world a better place!
