God's Waiting Room

Tuesday, April 14, 2009

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.
Psalm 37:7
There are times in my life that I have found myself in “God’s Waiting Room”..Now as I look back , I see the many ways that God truly has taught me so many things..there were also those times when I cried out to the Lord and didn’t understand why I had to stay there so long.. I have discovered that everything in our lives happens in God’s time and that does not mean in our time..Right now I find myself back in His Waiting Room, however there is a special peace that He has placed in my heart and I know that in His time all things will be done the right way..
God allows certain things to take place in our lives to teach us important principles like: (a) developing new skills and ways of thinking; (b) showing grace and controlling our responses; (c) maintaining our faith when times get tough. Paul writes: "Patience… [is… the power to endure whatever comes, with good temper]" (Colossians 3:12 AMP); "Be glad for all God is planning… Be patient in trouble, and prayerful always" (Romans 12:12 TLB).
When you spend time in God's waiting room, He's developing qualities in you that simply can't be developed any other way. When He's finished you'll come out stronger and wiser. And you'll have the maturity to handle what He has in mind for you. So don't let the enemy rattle you or engineer circumstances that put you into overdrive. "Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him" (Psalm 37:7).
The Lord is the one who can give us the Peace and the Joy in our lives that we need to make it through each day...

Thank you for this post. I imagine everyone has been in that waiting room - I know I have been. You are an encouragement to me. I am going through some health issues that I believe are about resolved. I'll just trust in God during the wait.

I relate to this blog and know that there are times in all our lives when God is doing His work; refining us as a diamond in the rough. As we surrender to His hand working that out there will be His mighty design produced in us. Oh, yes, faith is required, patience and trust, and Psalm 37:7 resting in Him.

I have felt the refiners gentle touch in my life and sometimes not so gentle...may the Lord be near you and may your faith be strong.

    Love in Christ,

You are a women of true courage. Yes we need to learn to wait on the Lord, with patience. Psalm 27:14 says, " Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart; wait I say, on the Lord. emoticon emoticon

Sherrilou, thanks so much for your blog. Its so hard sometimes to be patient, but we know the Lord is taking care of us and doing the things that need to happen in our lives to help us grow closer to him. I can sure tell that you have been in that waiting room many times by what you write. You are a very wise woman of God. I thank God to count you as a Spark friend.

Sherrilou, this is beautiful and so true. I now can look back at some of the hardest times and see how much I grew during those times. I often think of the poem "Footsteps" because as I look back I can see during those times I was being carried even when I didn't always know it. This is a hardtime for you but always remember you are never alone. You are being carried by the Lord, and you are being covered in prayer by all of us your spark friends. God bless, Ginny emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hey sweety....it's me .... just as you were there for me thru all my trials last year please don't hesitate to call on me for a shoulder, a prayer, or just to listen...I've got your back, just as several other loving souls do....I pray that you recieve the "Peace that the Lord Passes above ALL understanding" thru this time in your worldly journey. I pray that you feel the warmth of his hands wrapping around you, protecting you, guiding you, and teaching you just what is to come...without hesitation, or burden. Our Lord can do many things, if we trust, believe, and completely let his Will take over...We may not understand the reasons, the timing, the outcome, but the Lord always is right and His Mercies are abundant. I love you and will keep you in my prayers!

SherriLou you are so strong and you are always waiting to see what the Lord's will and lesson is. You are such a great influence and teacher for me in this aspect. I do not do well, as you know, waiting but trying to grow in this area of my life.

God is with you and is hearing all the prayers said for you.
