i have been asked what i was talking about yesturday. I was refereing to the media's coverage of the tax protests that have been happening. I was watching some CNN, and i felt like the world is being run by 5 year olds. They, meaning the reporters or the uberwealthy owners that own the networks, don't like what the protesters are saying, so they are resort to interrupting. namecalling, and twisting people's words making it difficult for their opinions to be heard. It seems that they never offer facts, or debate. They just call them racist/sexist/homophobes/ rtighttwingers. They seem to forget that the last time there was a tax protest in this country it was against a white leader. There was also some frat humor about "Teabagging". The quality of the news is incrediably low so i can't stany watching it.

I just scares me because a free society relies on people being engaged and informed. The journalists seem to be purposefully portraying editorials as fact, which makes it hard to know what is going on. . When average citizens try to get involved we are demeaned and attacked or given attitude because we weren't involved earlier. People on one of our town;s commites statedd that individuals should not be voicng concern because they did not get involved 6 years ago. I only live in this town for 2. My state is wondering why people are moving out in droves when the be have this way.

I just keep seeing so many signs that there ate people trying to take control of us, and we are surrendiering our rights and privillages withour a real fight, making it harder as time goes on to keep our rights.

I agree that the News Media is getting very bias in their reporting. Sometimes it is hard to tell what is fact or fiction. Sometimes they report stuff before they have even checked out the whole story.

At the same time I am very appreciative of those who risk their lives to inform us....going out into storms, dangerous area's etc. emoticon
