Have you ever noticed how easy it is to give thanks when everything is going well? It’s no problem when you have electric, food and water. It’s more difficult when all these things are gone. The Bible says to offer Him the sacrifice of praise! When everything is falling apart it’s a sacrifice to praise God.

We have our minds our problems and we are focused on working them out. As foolish as it is, we usually use all our strength trying to beat our way out of a problem that the Lord had the key to all along.

Human beings just want to struggle with impossible missions. We grab hold of a thing and wrestle it till we are worn out and then we call on God. When we have come to the end of our rope - we reach for the Lord. It’s in that attitude we find it so hard to praise in the bad times. Mankind thinks there must be one more thing I can do. One more prayer I can pray to make this mess go away - but it is in the acceptance of the mess and the understanding our own inability to change it that God can really make a difference.

Just like old movies, when the bad guy pulled a gun he said get your hands up. It’s a sign of surrender! The lord is waiting for surrender. Then He can come in and make Himself known - so in that moment He alone can get the praise! No one could have fixed it - no person, place or thing but God alone! In that moment it is not hard anymore. Then we can lift our hands and give thanks to God for all He has done.

Until that moment of the miraculous comes - we must lift our hands in surrender. Give up and let God be God! Then watch as God shows himself strong in our darkest hour!

Something to look forward to!

That is very true and a very powerful fact...but sometimes unfortunately, easier said than done...I find I can have tons of faith, but having "trust" to let go and let God is much more challenging. Thanks for reminding us of what I believe to be the "key" to living the abundant life. Less of me and more of thee. emoticon
