I'm kinda bummed :(

Friday, May 01, 2009

First - I guess I waited too long to register for the half marathon tomorrow and its closed! WAHHH! So that means that I don't get to run tomorrow. :( I'll have to look for a new race - I hope I don't have to wait for October and the Columbus Marathon!

But all is not lost - I am going to go ahead and teach my class at the Y. I am also subbing for a cycle class so that's a good 2 hours of good hard work. There is a "Country PiYo" class that I may take :) Pilates/Yoga combo set to Country Music. That would be before my Strength Class and then I end with the cardio of Cycling!

I am also now running in the New Albany Symphony 4 Miler on Sunday morning. So I do get to race in the end!

Second - I am home for the next week on vacation - a "staycation" - I saw that term today and liked it. I had 17 cubic yards of dirt delivered - see pictures below. But it's rained all day today so I didn't get to move any dirt (like I would have had time with all the errands I ran) and due to bad weather I didn't get to mow. I hope the rain holds off tomorrow and I can get out. But the reason I am bummed is because of this weather forecast! I will be moving 17 cubic yards of mud!

The third reason is that last week I had a little mishap with my seedlings. Many of them are doing just fine but I thought it would be a good idea to put them outside to get more sun. My neighbor told me it was too cold (60's) but it was sunny and I figured that being in a protected area they would be ok. WELL!!! They got TOO MUCH SUN! I had put them out at 11:30 am and they were out all day. Some of them got a bit fried and I've lost some of them. I was going to have to thin them out anyway so again, all is not lost. I'll post pictures of the seedlings tomorrow.

Here is the dirt!

Yikes on all that dirt to move! But think of moving the MUD as a darn good cardio workout! :) I always like to find the good in everything I do, it sure helps with my attitude! Good luck with the running, I know you will do well. Don't be bummed, you have a rich and full life! HUGS!
