Parasites. Why'd it have to be parasites?

Thursday, May 14, 2009

Adam's brother spotted a worm on one of our cats last night.

UGH! Parasites gross me out more than anything you could imagine. Seriously. And I've been making it worse by reading online. Now I'm totally convinced that I have parasites in my lungs and that Adam has them in his eye.

I'm being a hypocondriac, but I took the day off work to take them to the vet. We're really too broke right now. I'll probably pay $500 for drops I could've bought online. But the cats are our babies. And Batman (Adam's baby) had a UTI last month. Adam took him in, but he seems worse. He's peeing blood now. UTIs are pretty serious in cats. I gotta get him better. Adam loves that cat, probably as much as he loves me (haha!) and he'll be completely crushed if Batman dies.

But sheesh, why did it have to be parasites?

I totally hear ya on the parasites. When Hank was little, he had tapeworm and it totally grossed me out.

Yea, taking my animals the the vet has convinced me that I am in the wrong career. But, I have to take care of my babies!

Ugh, I'm sorry!! I totally hear you on being broke...I had to take my 15 year old kitty to the vet last month and it was $400 for all the tests they ran and the exam!

She actually also had a UTI...I've been having to make her gag down liquid antibiotics for the past 3 weeks. I'm finally about done giving them to her. She has hypothyroidism too so I have to give her a pill twice a day for the rest of her life...that's another $45/month I DON'T have!

Oh the things with do for our furry children in our families huh? :)

Hope everything goes ok at the vet. And I'm sure you don't have worms in your lungs or in eyeballs! LOL

Sorry to hear about your cats. Usually they can be taken care of fairly quick. Just remember to wash your hands whenever you touch the cats, their toys, litter boxes, etc.
