The UN-motivated

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

I am having such a big problem right now. I haven't been on SP in ages, and I haven't been exercising either. At first I kept saying I was too tired and too busy, but now I know that I am just making excuses. I'm not motivated! How in the heck to I get that back? I don't know... It's so frustrating because I was doing SO WELL and now..? I gotta get outta this rut.

    Salaamu alaikum

You guys are right. I just have to do it. Like Nike. Well, this morning I did it. Yay. And it felt great! I WILL be exercising tomorrow morning as well...maybe some strength training... or a nice morning walk.

Assalaamu alaykum sister, good to see you back. its so funny i have also relapsed but i always remember the wave anology where life has its ups and downs. Allah says in the Quran After hardship comes ease, After hardship comes ease. We all need to just make the most of the upwards wave and benefit from the ease as much as we are able. one step back and two forward. Remember the grave enjoy life now and lets count those positive blessings! emoticon

    Asalaamu alaikum sis,
I know exactly what you mean. I am in the same boat. What I decided to do, was make an appointment with myself. I think it was on Sunday. I just told my self that at 10am I WILL workout. I think that turned into 7pm, but the point is that I just Did It. It was really hard and I was tempted to just push it off for another day. I decided to start off with every other day for about 2 weeks. Then I'll add more days as I grow in my commitment. Insha Allah, just wake up, put on your workout clothes, and do it. I too was completely unmotivated for a while. I think a lot of us are going through it right now. You are not alone. I don't feel like I'm doing much because of what I was doing before, but believe me, once you get started, things will just pick up again. May Allah (SWT) make it easy.

starting over is easy, its the sticking to it that's the hard part- when you get bored, mix it up! you can do it! I'm the worlds worst at making up excuses. trust me, i have a million in my back pocket, but I'm DONE WITH EXCUSES! find someone to be your accountability partner. if you can't find one, you can use me! i'll be more than happy to help you out!
