What did I do with my time before?

Last night Amy and I went for our 16 mile bike ride. It was so beautiful outside. There were no parking places left at the parking lot for the rail trail that we parked at. Phew, we got the last one. So we put our helmets on and hit the trail.... A new shakey adventure for me, but a new kind of exercise for me to challenge myself with.
As I am rolling along there are many people that we see on our 16 mile ride. Biking, walking, running and rollerblading. We saw evidence that someone had been horseback riding on the trail, but did not physically see them just the droppings. As I am riding I am seeing people of all different ages. From babies in tote, 7 year olds veering off the trail(wish they had adults with them...), teenagers, Young mom's, established couples, packs of bike riders, runners, to elderly. Everyone enjoying the weather and the great opportunity to exercise.
So as I am driving Amy home that night I see people running on the side of the road. And I think to myself, " why did it take me so long to get the benefits of exercise?" All of these people are out there running and walking and getting fit, or staying that way and it took me so long to get it.
As Amy and I drove home we talked about changes with in us. How we are both shrinking and changing and not just physically, but mentally as well. My youngest daughter eats more than any teenage boy and is a size 6 and 5'7". She is the skinny bitch. We tease her all the time. But as we are getting older, Amy and I are going to be the skinny ones. We are so determined to lose this weight and be part of the 5% that actually keep it off. I am not in a rush, but want to get this beaten before menopause.
So what did I do before with my time. I can't say that my house was that much cleaner.
I think I sat a lot and watched tv. I did not watch a lot, but more than I watch now.
I did more food shopping, I never have time for that anymore. It is amazing how much my life has changed over the past 4 months. What did you do with your time before you exercised?
