I took a pretty good digger, Cool War Wounds!

Sunday, May 24, 2009

I went for a bike ride by myself yesterday. I had a couple of hours put aside. Dana was off saving the world. The girls were off to spend some time with their grandfather. It would be a good time for me to ride by myself.
So I get to the rail trail. The parking lot that I normally park in is full. Since I have to park in the dirt one I decide to take the trail north to the NH border. I get on my bike. Ride a mile or so and then it happens. i just went to fix my earphone for my ipod and next thing I know as I go to slow down my extra sensitive brake flew me over my handlebars. I just tapped it and it must have been my front brake because i only tapped one side and the next thing I know I am face down in the dirt. MY pride, was banged up pretty bad.
I have some good bruises to remember the trip by, but all in all no permanent damage done. I will now pull over for any adjustments as I ride. I am just not that talented. Maybe someday I will be a steady driver that can sit and not hold the handle bars, but I am so not that driver.

Awwwww.... I'm so glad you're okay!

I did something similar on the treadmill, reaching for my IPOD; wiped out, flew off, then tried to get back on without turning off the treadmill. Yuck!

But I"d rather injure myself in getting fit than in too much couch sitting!!!

    OMG .. are you okay?
HOney - I soooooooooooooo did something similar a few weeks ago and had a full-on hand gash to prove it! Thank gawwwd my hub was there that one day! I bled like a stuck pig!

I know how you feel. I am NOT coordinated. and even less so when balencing on metal and moving tires!

Chalk another one up to wisdome honey! Just be careful - that next ride will be a lil shaky. Pick somewhere very easy to get your bearings!

Glad you are okay - some of us aren't as gifted in the coordination department and really can not walk and chew gum at the same time! You should see me try to drink out of my water bottle and run all at once...
