Month 4 - Focus on non-scale success
Thursday, May 28, 2009
Here are my stats:
Week 16 Loss: -1
Month 4 Loss: -7
Total Loss: -26 pounds
-5.5 inches on waist
-2 inches on hips
-1 inch on neck
Body Fat: 42.9%
I did very well this week and was a little disappointed when I only dropped 1 pound

Any loss is a great loss, but I screwed up 5 weeks between the wedding, finals and planning for my surgery, so I'm behind on my time-line for my goal. All this being said, I am trying to focus on the positive NSS (non-scale successes).
The Belt: When I started I wasn't wearing a belt, now I'm using the third hole in!!!
Pants: I am officially too small for some of my pants I was wearing when I started and had to down-size.
Cholesterol: My total cholesterol is within range, and my lipids are 1/3 what they used to be.
Blood Sugar: I'm officially out of the diabetic range on my A1C and back to a pre-diabetic number.
Exercise: When I started I could barely do 20 minutes of cardio... now I'm doing between 60-90 minutes and feeling satisfied.
I rewarded myself this week by buying a weight-watchers scale that measures weight, body fat %, body water %, bone mass and BMI.
My surgery is this Monday, June 1st - that is if they don't reschedule me again

I am ready to get this over with and start recuperating! I'm motivated and I want to find a way to catch up on my lost weeks and get back on target. I know this is going to be difficult while healing from the surgery, but I'm going to try. I posted some pix of me before I got sick as motivation... I'm trying to remind myself that I used to be smaller and it is actually possible, no matter how far away it feels right now.
