My week all summed up...

Saturday, May 30, 2009

...and it was great but I do have one concern. My doctor placed me on BP meds a few months ago and will take my journaled BP readings to my August appt. Since I have been officially weaned from my Effexor, have cut way way back on my alcohol intake AND eating very very well along with a successful week with my fitness...MY BP READINGS ARE CLIMBING! How discouraging! This evening...123/110. WHAT...IS..UP...WITH...THAT...
!?! Stay tuned...

I was very honest with my food and fitness logging and I am very proud of myself. After looking at my end of the week tallies, I quickly took little Lucy for a 15 minute walk so I could reach my week's goal for cardio minutes. Think of it, a few weeks ago I couldn't/wouldn't get my a$$ off the couch to do anything. After much prayer and pondering and Spark here I am and no one including myself is going to stop me.

Another great thing that is happening is Jim is losing some weight also because there is not nearly the crap food in the house. I wish I could get him to Spark with me but he has his hands full with work since he will be the next CEO of our company.

So here I go anxiously awaiting what lies ahead this Sparktastic Spark week. Tomorrow is my day off from anything fitness and my muscles are needing it. I remain so grateful for SparkPeople and continue to feel blessed to have found it.

Until tomorrow...Nighty night my awesome Spark friends...

It's scary when your health sways... I was prescribed BP meds and while I took them for a month, resolved to change my lifestyle (including drinking a lot less) and I never renewed the 3 month prescription she gave me and my BP has been fine ever since.

I know that for some meds are necessary, and I'm glad that you're monitoring it. Here's wishing that your continued lifestyle changes on SP will make it so one day your BP is normalized again.
