finally, it's happened to me....

after a few weeks, i have finally lost some weight. almost 5 pounds! FREAKIN' FINALLY!
i've been learning so much from this site, and thank goodness for the nutrition tracker. in the past week alone, i've learned that it's much more beneficial (as a weight loss tactic) to stay at the VERY bottom end of my recommended range of calories/carbs/fats. i've also learned that concentrating a LITTLE bit more on eating low-fat rather than low-carb helps me lose weight much faster. therefore, i'm starting to eat (heart healthy) fatty foods (like eggs, avovado, natural peanut butter, nuts) in bigtime moderation.
another thing i've realized, after weighing in today, is that i have consumed a lot less alcohol in the past week (in which most of these almost-five pounds have been lost) than in preceding weeks. i'm ,sadly, going to have to avoid beer!! very tough, because my lifestyle is very bar- and club-oriented, since i work both in the music industry and the bar industry! ah well.
next goal = EXERCISE. i have not been stepping up to the plate in excersizing at all yet. i HATE exercising. i've always lived a pretty inactive lifestyle (free-time hobbies are reading, knitting, crafts, writing, listening to records, watching movies), so i'm commited to taking some baby steps to physical activity in the next week. kinda sorta dreading it though, but i know that my weight-loss and journey to a healthy lifestyle will not work without action!
