Reached My Goal! Lets reach yours too

Thursday, June 04, 2009

Hi Spark Friends,

It is a special day for me. I got to change my symbol to "Reached My Goal" What an awesome feeling it was to step on the scale and see that I lost that final pound to obtain my goal. I wanted to scream from a mountain top "I did it" It was slow going the last 15 pounds but I finally got here. WOW!! To change that symbol was HUGE for me. It means so much to be able to display that. I have now lost a total of 57 pounds. I could not have lost a single pound without all the tools here on this site and the kindness, support, encouragement, occasional kick in the butt and friendship from all my WONDERFUL spark friends here. You are all my ROCK!!! I have tried so many ways to lose my weight in the past and I never followed through with any of them. I either got bored, gave up, caved in, or just blew it off (complete with a pocket full of excuses as to why) However, little did I know when I signed in here for the first time last August that I would actually succeed. Little did I know that I could not fail here because it wasn't an option. How could I fail here with all the great tools and the support from so many fantastic people! I am so grateful to all of you for being here for me.
I will continue to spark everyday. Meeting my goal is just part of my healthy lifestyle change. I now need to maintain my weight and that will take a conscious effort on my part as well. So why change a thing! I will continue doing my same routine so that I continue my success and my relationships with all my spark friends. I want to be here to cheer on, root for, support, encourage, sparker's in any way I can. I want all of you to know what this feels like!

Everyone of you are more then capable of obtaining your goals too. If I can do it, trust me YOU can do this too!! You have lived with the extra weight on you for way to long and I ask you "hows that working for you"? (I am quoting that question from one of my spark friends Deborah who used these words when making a point. (Thanks Deborah!) I can tell you it was NOT working for me. I was the excuse maker, I was the non exerciser, I was the quitter, I was the emotional eater, I did it all. However, I have learned and now seen first hand that we call ALL do whatever we set our minds to. The only person you short change by not following through with a healthy lifestyle is YOU! The people who will benefit from your doing what you say you want to do is EVERYONE in your life! You, Your friends, your kids, your family, your spouse, all the people who love you will benefit because they will have you longer then they will if you remain an over weight unhealthy person. So please reach deep inside yourself and find that will to do this and willpower to see it through and lets do it together! You have people (WONDERFUL PEOPLE) here that are willing to do whatever they can to support you and walk this journey with you. Use them!!!! Use the tools on this site and make it happen for yourself!

A lot of people have asked me how I will celebrate reaching my goal. My celebration will consist of two things. One I will buy myself some new clothes, and two, I want to celebrate with all of you. So, I am having a virtual party! Yep, your invited! All you have to do to attend my party is add an extra 15 minutes to your next workout or give up one bad food as a ticket in. If you will do that for me, that will be a meaningful way to celebrate my success. It would be so rewarding to me to know that my spark friends are on their road to success along with me. So kick it up a notch and lets get you to your goal my friends. I want you here with me!

Thank you all so very, very much for being the best spark friends ever!

What a wonderful day. Enjoy every moment. How generous of you to celebrate in a way that benefits all of us following behind you. I have 8.8 lbs. to goal, and there are times when I think it's not going to happen with only ounces lost each week. Today I read your blog, and I know it's going to happen.

Here's California jumping up and down for you. Oh, and I tacked on an extra 15 minutes to my treadmill walk (1 extra mile) in your honor. Thanks for the party. emoticon
