The River That Flows

Thursday, July 02, 2009

Life is like a river constantly flowing.
Rounding turns and bends going on
and on again and again.

A river has ripples like smiles
and winks.
Glitters when the sun shines
on it.

The river has rocks giving it
bumps to climb.
Just like life it runs on and
on.

A tree branch laying on
the top of it, gives it an
obsticle to stop its flow.
The river is constant and
does get through, what
an accomplishment to
do.

The river that flows is
much like life.
It has its stress and
strife.

What an awesome poem Paula! You are so right in likening our lives to a river. Our lives flow like a river with bumps and turns along the way but with sunshine to brighten it as well.

    Thanks for sharing your inspiration.

What a beautiful poem. I love your wallpaper. I think it's very pretty. I also love Thomas Kincaid as well. I was in an art gallery and almost bought one of his paintings. I keep kicking myself for not doing it.

    Hello,
Thank you so much for posting this poem - it's lovely.
What you've written is so true.. just like the river, our lives are changing constantly, making sudden turn, or tackling a rock or a bump on the way.
And just like the river we adjust to these changes , sometimes easily and sometimes w/ years of struggles.

    Have a great day.
    Hugs,
    Julez

Thank you for posting this it was lovely and I have five of Thomas Kincaid’s framed prints. He is awesome as the painter of light. I wish my printer was not out of ink or I want have printed this. It always amazes me that water is so gentle and consistent in flowing but that it carves into rock. No where have I seen more evidence of this then at the Grand Canyon. Did not mean to go on for so long. Have a wonderful fit and healthy weekend.

Update: OMG, you wrote this. I just looked at your page Paula, Very inspirational!
