Was rough. They had a potluck at work. I had to leave for a dental appointment (which added to the "roughness" of the day). It was so strange. The smell of the food made me nauseous and hungry at the same time...like there was some kind of battle going on. Other things didn't go right and I was so emotional. I could only pray and just try to make it throught the day. But the good part is that I didn't eat any of the food. I made it through. I'm finding that this weight loss journey is about a lot of prayer, dealing with your food addiction or mistreatment, and doing (with consistency) the simple, mundane things that will get you that much closer to your health goals. You have to be blatantly honest with yourself and own you feelings. Cry, if you need to. Mourn the food. Exercise to burn off nervous energy and find things to fill your time so that you can focus on putting in your body what it needs to be healthy. You might lose some friends and you might have to be selfish, but no one lives in your skin but you. You have to realize the value that God gave you and be good to the temple He's provided to you. If you are aware of how very special you are, you will make better choices about what you partake in. It's a fight, but we are winners.
