Feeling blessed!

Tuesday, July 07, 2009

Wow, what an amazing weekend we had! I think it was the first weekend (besides vacation) that my husband has had off since we had the kids. We had the best time on 4th of July. We took the kids to McD's for lunch, they just LOVE to play there. Then we took them to visit with their cousin before heading up to grandma and grandpa's house. There they got to swim, play croquet, run around with the other kids, and see fireworks for the first time. They though Pop-Its where amazing:) All in all it was a great time for all of us. Now that hubby's schedule is changing to where he will have several Sundays off a month we decided to start looking for a church. We went to one in Post Falls, ID on Sunday and LOVED it! The kids both had a great time in their kids classes and we loved the service. We are excited to go back this week. Then we went out to lunch and BBQ'd in the evening. It was such a great time and I just feel blessed that things have opened up for us to have more weekends like this. In fact, part of hubby's new schedule gives him 7 days off at a time each month and that starts this Friday. So we are planning to take the kids to their first movie, go to the lake, and take them to Greenbluff to pick fresh fruit and play. Should be so much fun:) Now I just need to find balance with all that fun and keeping myself in check. This past weekend I did not get in any workouts and didn't track my food. I got right back on it yesterday but with more of these weekends coming up I am going to have to learn to still make good choices while out and about. It's all a learning process, but one I am glad to take on~~

That's great.. glad to hear you had a nice 4th.. yea I feel blessed too having friends .. Joy gives me clothes and I give Anne clothes it's all good... like having the sisters I never had.. between them and Ebay and thrift stores and Goodwill.. I'm in clothes.. once in a while I'll splurge and buy something special from reg shops but not often as I'm losing sizes every month or so and don't want to go nuts.. you understand...

AWWWW, how exciting!!! I'm so happy for ALL of you. It IS kewl when things open up, isn't it? You'll find the balance, you will. It may NOT be easy, to be honest, BUT if you want to do it, you will. I wish you much success & many GREAT church services!!! :-)

I am so happy for you that you finally get some family time. I bet your boys are super excited to spend that much extra time with dad. I know its hard but to allow your self to enjoy those days with your spouse, I would plan to get up earlier then everyone and get your work out in first thing, so you have the rest of the day committed to the family and you will feel great knowing that you got your work out and had fun all day.

Or you could plan to go places that includes exercise, like hiking, biking, walking at a zoo, or even playing a game together like soccer. If you took the boys fishing then while they fished you could walk around the pone, or lake for 60 minutes. Good luck, I have faith you will get your workouts in b/c you know this is something you have to do for your family.

Thanks for your words of encouragement today, I greatly appreciated it.

Family time is certainly important. Since you are making a life change with you diet and exercise change it will just be a learning process like you said. It seems to me that as soon as I get a routine down, something comes along with the kids and changes it. Life happens and I have to change to make it work. It all works out. Enjoy your family time - it all goes by so quickly!!!

So glad to hear your hubby's schedule is going to work out better for the family. I know you will be happpier to have him there on some weekends. I think when we are happier it makes it easier to avoid poor choices. Glad you found a church you like too.

Sounds like you all had a great time with more plans for additional fun in the near future! Enjoy it and don't worry - lots of times the workout happens all on its own when you are running after the kids and staying active!
