Am I officially a runner?

I don't think there are specific requirements except that well...you run. I have always envied people who I see out running and always think that running is something that is not for me. Think again. For example, I went out at 5:30 this morning and started out slow and built up to a pretty good clip for me...slow but steady. I know not to push myself to hard and just ease into faster speeds and allow my body to adjust accordingly. I am not sure how far I am going without shifting to walking but I do know my running is getting longer.
I have also decided to tackle my first 5K and sign up for the good old Eager Beaver run. Just when the hometown folks think they have finally gotten rid of me...think again! They can watch me sweat and slobber all over myself! So there!
I love that buzz you get afterwards and mine usually last well into the morning. I also really like the way my body is s.l.o.w.l.y shrinking. I am not adding any toning exercises yet simply because I hate them. There I said it. I HATE THEM! Squats? I detest them. Crunches? They suck. Lunges? I hate them even more. Sometime in the future though I realize that I will need to do some just to tighten up the flab. I really don't want my arm flab continuing to wave at folks well after my arm stopped the waving.
That is all for now so ya'll can go take your heart pills now because of the excitement of my fine writing. Makes ya just giddy, doesn't it?
