Frustration: reaching a plateau, already?
Wednesday, July 08, 2009
the past few weeks have gone by with one pound lost each week.
first of all, i want to say that i know it's much healthier to lose 1-2 lbs per week.
BUT....i'm so frustrated! especially after losing about 20 pounds within the first month! i am working SO hard with my eating/nutrition and working out 100 times harder now (and i stopped drinking beer/alcohol!), and i just don't understand how i'm not closer to the 2-pound a week mark! i want to see the numbers move faster, gosh darnit! :)
any suggestions for breaking the plateau? should i be working out more or less? should i be eating MORE? i keep reading that it might help spike the metabolism to get more calories in, but i'm scared! i must say, some days i do not even make it to my Sparkpeople-recommended calorie range, and i know that's not good.
i realise that it is not realistic (or very healthy) to want to be losing several (or more) pounds week,, so i'm just venting here. maybe i'm gaining in muscle mass?
another strange thing: it seems like all my weight loss (so far) has come off my upper body (arms, face, neck, chest), which is doubly frustrating because i'm smaller on top anyway! i'm very bottom-heavy, and am waiting very impatiently for the fat to start coming off my lower belly, butt and legs!! when will the fat parts start slimming down?!
i apologise in advance for this whiney blog!
