A Mothers Prayer
She knelt by her bedside,
her soft white hands folded.
To pray.
Every night for the past ten
years she has done this, her
eyes filled with tears.
Her prayers were for others,
for health, healing, and
safety.
She prayed for her husband,
children, and families.
The moonlight showed through
her window.
Lighting up the room.
It cast its light upon
her, she didn't move.
She felf a hand upon her
shoulder, and she began to
shiver.
She prayed all the more,
from her heart that was
so warm.
This time she prayed for
healing for herself to be
renewed.
As she felt the hand lift
off her shoulder she ended
her prayers and said,
"thank you dear Jesus for
hearing me and being with
me this night.
Without your love for me,
I would have given up the
fight.
