Shin splints...

I should have known better..
when I leave work in the morning I don't always take into consideration how much
sleep I've had, or if my body feels anything past just normal tired.. or as James would say...
yesterday I went into the empty gym and set the treadmill for 40 minutes figuring I'd be done and would make it to church.. was just gonna walk
after snagging a couple of light weights I did a little limbering up but my body wanted to go faster..
I pushed myself.. just a little too much
the area around my right ankle had been sore a few days,...but nothing special..figured I
should probably get those new runners
I felt it when I got off the treadmill.. theres a ring around my ankle a few inches wide..
it bothers me most because for the first time in the five years I've been on this journey
I'd never almost felt like a runner till now

that walk turned into me pushing for a fast 5k.. was happy to slip in under the 40 minute mark..but at the cost of me not being able to do the speed mile this coming weekend

I'll get on the bike today and see if I can do it.. no weight behind it..but i want to keep my legs
stretching easy.. not working
maybe later in the week I can try elliptical.. I have never really gotten into either one

trying to keep my chin up
and very very jealous of all my friends who can run.. sigh

    Wonderful that you are getting into that runner feeling! Don´t know if I´ll ever get there, maybe! Take care of yourself and make sure you get enough of the necessary rest so you can return slowly then full force.
