The Reckoning

Sunday, July 19, 2009

It is a time for reckoning. I have had the big huge weight loss goal for a couple of years yet, and, sadly, I am heavier now than I was when I started the Sparks Program. This is the 3rd time that I have decided to go at it 150%. Track exercise. Track food. Read. Post. Email. Weigh food. Add everything I eat to the database if it is not there. Weigh. Measure.

Then I get shocked back into my real life where there simply is not time! To do all of those things. I get discouraged because I cannot keep up, and I stop logging in.

Ironically, one of my jobs is to help new students and students who are in academic distress develop good goal setting and time management practices. Isn’t that hilarious? I cannot even manage my OWN time, and I certainly do not set realistic goals.

Tonight I will re-evaluate my goals and set a new standard for myself. My new goals will be attainable. I will only set a goal that I KNOW I can reach. Hopefully, I will exceed my goal, but I sure mean to reach it!

Happy Sparks to You!
