This is the second week in a row that I've lost only one pound. It's discouraging....
I'm a BIG person and I have a lot to lose. I should be able to lose more than 2 pounds in 2 weeks.
I KNOW I should be happy with any loss. I know one pound is one pound less than I was last week. The logical side of me says there will probably be several weeks where I'll stay the same or even gain something back - - but for THIS week, I expected more. I had a GREAT week and thought the scale would show it. The stupid scale failed me.
I think part of my problem is the "in between" weigh ins that I do throughout the week. I SAW lower numbers mid-week.... I expected to be down 2 or even 3 pounds by this morning, but even though I got on and off and on and off the dang scale about ten times this morning it still kept telling me.....you only lost ONE!
I don't feel like being logical and saying "yay, I'm down a pound". I don't feel like saying "Yay! at least I'm headed the right direction". I know I SHOULD be happy with my progress, but I'm not.
So for the second week in a row - I've only lost one pound and it was truly a huge disappointment to me.
believe me, i feel the same way too about my weight but i know there's much more going on than what a scale can tell me.
i know from my workouts and better food choices, my blood pressure and cholesterol are lower. i'm preventing diabetes, heart attack, stroke,osteoporosis and so much more.
i'm stronger, fitter, sleeping better, feeling better, looking better, moving around easier, clothes fit better. self esteem, self love and self confidence higher.
the scale can only tell what i've gained or lost and that could be water, fat or muscle, but inside, i have peace of mind, knowing that i'm doing much more than lose weight. i'm giving myself a chance for a long, healthy and happy life. so are YOU and for that, we should all celebrate.
Oh sweet Sunny.... I know you're frustrated and I know you're probably at the point of saying "What the [enter preferred expletive here]???" but what the other people have said IS true... your body is in shock... and every pound gone is a success.
One thing I keep reminding myself of is that I'm not in a race to lose weight; it's gonna come off eventually. There is no quick fix to weight loss but the fact that you are losing even a pound a week is tremendous!! Your logical side needs to kick your emotional side's butt (ya still got that proverbial shoe??? I think your emotional side is craving some leather!).
Hang in there babe... you're doing great and you'll keep on doing great, just try not to get too upset with your body; it will give up the weight when it's darn good and ready to and there's not much we can do to change that (healthily anyways *sigh*)
You have my heartfelt sympathy. This happened to me last week and I am still reeling from the shock! It will start going again, for you as well as me, so keep going and well done that you are losing and not staying the same or gaining. Love, Jean 3935 days ago

You have to give your body a chance to "catch up" with all of your good deeds! Give it a couple more weeks of consistently good treatment and I am sure the scale will reward you. Right now your whole system is in shock! It isn't used to such good treatment! LOL 3935 days ago
