New Food Obsession

Thursday, August 27, 2009

I have always been into cooking (and eating which got me to this point), but recently I think it has turned into a food OBSESSION! Not necessarily a bad thing since I'm not dying to make different cakes and cookies, but just infatuated with reading cooking blogs and recipes and learning from everyone about how they like to cook.

And of course, cooking myself. At least once a week I like to try out a new recipe and make myself something totally gourmet! I would love to do this every night, but I end up with too many leftovers, don't have the time, AND have to share my kitchen... so we'll see.

I'm looking into moving into a new apartment so that I can live by myself, and the first thing I'm looking at is the kitchen. However, I recently discovered a new blog that had a ton of ideas for how to rennovate a "rental kitchen" where you can't actually change too much. I'm feeling very inspired...as soon as I move of course :/ I'm already getting a lot of gripe from the roommate about dominating the apartment space.

Tried a new restaurant this week, Pizza Fusion in Hillcrest and LOVED it. All organic and natural products so I felt like the pizza I was eating was quite healthy. I loved that it didn't leave me with the greasy feeling I usually get after eating pizza. A nice, whole wheat crust - thin crust so nice and crispy, heaped with fresh veggies (the Farmer's Market pizza incase you're wondering). I also got a ginger ale with it, which is something I never order. My friend ordered it, and I tried it, and it was so full of flavor, and just the right amount of carbonation. Didn't taste anything like ginger ale I usually have.
