Busy, Rainy, Busy Day

Sunday, September 13, 2009

Wow, where did the day go?

It has rained all day. This morning TC brought in about 15 pounds of green peppers and even MORE of acorn squash, so I had to get that all ready for the freezer. I must duly report that he worked side by side with me, yay!

I'm glad the produce is winding down, but he's already planted the "fall crops" -- another round of lettuce, spinach, turnips, beets, cabbage, carrots, and cucumbers. This is a foreign concept to me, that there is actually time enough before the first freeze to plant a second garden!

Anyway, then he went to his master gardener meeting and I got busy on my online classes which has taken the rest of the day. I'm nowhere near done yet.

So I've got to run and make dinner (fajitas with fresh bell peppers, yum) and then back to work. That's all weekends are to me; the time I need to catch up. ***POOR ME!!!****

I hope everyone had a great day today!

What do you do with the acorn squash? I have heard there are some great dishes made with acorn squash.

TG - I wished I lived closer to you - I would take the extra produce TC's garden produces!! I know it's lots of work but you really have a great thing going in your life with TC and I can tell it in your blogs!

I don't know if you noticed recently but I think you are back in the ZONE - you are going for it!!
