Long time, no blog.

Yes, It has been a long time since I've added anything here. I'm not much of a blogger, spending all my posting energy on the teams, not to mention the fact that I'm not very good at it....blogging I mean.
Got a question for my Spark Friends? Does everybody have a distorted self image like I do? I know in my head that I've lost an appreciable amount of weight. I KNOW this. But I have a big problem seeing it.
That is, until I ran across this picture while I was de-cluttering my computer (which is officially named "Packrat").
Can this really be me??????????
I'm afraid it is...I recognize the shirt.
Finally, I can admit to myself...yeah...I do look a tad different these days. Not where I want to go yet, but I can finally see that progress has been made.
Ok..let's see if I can figure out how to attach this picture. I'll click that little orange button at the top and hope for the best...lol

    The ONLY way I can see myself is through photos. My mirror is broken. I can't explain it, but when I was obese I didn't see it. I felt it, but I didn't SEE it until I saw the photos. Now I feel my pants falling off of me, but until I take a progress pic, I have a hard time adjusting my self image. I think this is normal. Give it time to live with the new you. I'm so proud of you.

    My son has a big problem with this. He still thinks of himself as fat and he isn't. In fact one of his students at school told him he is skinny now. LOL.

    Good for you for realizing there IS a difference! You should give yourself credit!

    I did have a distorted image of myself too. The pounds were coming off but I felt like my clothes size was barely moving. I had barely moved down one size. What did it for me was one night when an old neighbor called and said he would be nearby and asked my fiance and I to meet him for a drink. When he saw me, he immediately told me I looked great and asked how much weight I had lost. After that, it got a little weird, because he kept looking me up and down and putting his hand on my leg that my fiance even had to find a reason to sit between us. LOL It was creeping both of us out. However, even though my fiance, mom and even friends had told me I looked better I guess I took it all with a grain of salt until someone I hadn't seen in a while took notice. That was my pivotal moment, as creepy as it was. LOL
