Tri

Monday, September 14, 2009

Yesterday was Tri day. It wasn't as exciting as I wanted it to be--mostly because I was battling migraines all last week and the morning of. I miss swimming for me and not for the clock and I can't wait to get back to that.

The worst part of the Tri was waiting in the line to start and that the swim was first so I wanted to get a good time in to give my team a great start! My goal was to finish between 7 and a half to 8 minutes even though under 10 would have been great! ha. While training I was swimming the 400 at 7 minutes even but nerves really took over and the pool I swam in was horrible! COLD and murky and crowded and I came in at 7:05!

My whole team finished in 1 hour 40 minutes.

This is probably my last Tri for awhile. I don't find it exciting to train and train and then in 7 minutes it's all over! lol I miss swimming for me and myself and racing the clock wasn't fun--I found it stressful. I am glad I did it though because someday my daughter can look back and see that her mom persevered and worked hard to accomplish a goal and did it.

Thanks to my swimming for cardio team for rooting me on and for great advice and kind words!!
