*Sunny** at last!

Sunday, September 20, 2009

Wow, after a week of rain and clouds the sun is finally doing its thing. Happy to see it!

We did our 7 mile walk yesterday and it was a bit of a struggle. Then we got our sub from Subway as planned, and did a few errands including the grocery store. I was HUNGRY and got a bag of FF Lays chips -- the kind made with olestra.

We went to the park and ate our dinner. I did not mean for us to finish the chips, but we did. But even assuming I ate 5 of the 7 servings, that would be 375 calories. Not a good thing by ANY means but I tracked it and I was still within my calorie range for the day.

Potato chips are a real trigger and I absolutely cannot have them in the house. TC (thankfully) is OK with Pringles, which don't call to me, so he can have those in his little "treat cupboard" without me getting into them.

The fair food was the usual: FAT, SALT, and SUGAR. Even though as a worker we could order anything we want, we just stuck with diet coke and water.

I'm giving myself credit! I think I was able to resist the fair food because I'd already had a great treat and I didn't feel deprived at all. And I ate within my calorie limit, so it's all good!

I think Vandal's blog today is really good and I want to respond and continue the conversation in my blog tomorrow. Vandal, you are right to periodically review your reasons and blog about them. We have to keep our reasons fresh and compelling, simply because this IS such a long-term commitment to something that is very difficult to achieve.

I am hoping for good things at the weigh in tomorrow, because except for those light potato chips I have done a really good job this week. I am hoping to beat Nancy15togoal to those 150's bragging rights!! (Although she's going to BUDAPEST next month so bragging rights SUCK in comparison!!) (STILL SULKING) emoticon

Hey there TG - Give yourself major credit for the week you had! What a great job. Chips - yeah well I don't think there is anyone in Sparkland who will get on your case about that. You stayed within the calorie range - got your exercise!

What more could you want out of the week? Oh yeah BUDAPEST - well I think you should keep your name and just put this down as one of the places YOU WILL VISIT! If TC is going to make you work another year - he owes you Budapest!!

Good luck on your weigh in. You and Nancy15togoal will be fun to watch!

You take care!! and I'll talk to you tomorrow!!

l can't put my hand wave in for some reason so you'll just have to picture it in your mind!

Sounds like you did great! Six miles probably was enough to neutralize those calories. I just re-read your profile and I'm amazed that you have dropped 20 lbs since May! That is quite an accomplishment!

I cooked dinner for friends last night and everything was healthy (green salad & roasted Moroccan vegetables) or in moderation (lamb chops) but my guest brought a homemade apple pie with Hagen Daz and I indulged in a small to normal size piece with a small scoop of ice cream. Like your potato chips, not too bad.

I must confess that the day after my vow to avoid the scale until Monday, I mindlessly repeated my morning routine and paid the scale a visit second thing in the morning. But we all know what can happen in three days so I'm really curious about what the number will be tomorrow morning. I'll let you know -

Hope we both break past 160 and can set the next challenge.
