Old habits

Sunday, September 20, 2009

I have just recently fell back into one of my old "BAD" habits, I started smoking again after not smoking for almost 2 years. It is amazing what stress and depression can do to your body and mind. I am hoping after the end of next month, after I take care of something that is really weighing on my mind and soul, that I can quit smoking again. I could really use some encouragement and prayers from my friends out there! Thanks a bunch! emoticon

I don't smoke myself but I know it's tough because my hubby has also quit smoking. I buy him Hairbo gummy bears for him to chew on to help him during the times he wants to go and smoke. It's a long battle and we are also here for you and I pray God will see you through your tough times and give you peace during this time of need.

You can do it...I had the same experience. I quit smoking for about two years. After a really stressful and messy breakup, I started smoking again. Heavily. I was depressed and unhealthy. I moved to a different state and started really living my life, though quitting smoking wasn't part of that, yet. Once you start doing things for yourself, your body naturally will start to pull itself out of depression. I started doing yoga. The body awareness and sense of self healing that it represented made me move away from cigarettes without even realizing it. I would walk past people that were smoking after getting out of my yoga class and it disgusted me, it was so offensive, I couldn't believe that was what it smelled like when I smoked. I finally realized that to truly be healthy the smokes had to go. I have never looked back and never once even thought about smoking again. I think because I did it for myself and not for anyone else or because I knew I should. Everyone knows that they shouldn't smoke...you just have to heal from the inside out to really believe that you are worth the healthy lifestyle. Good luck to you! You can do it and you are worth it!
