#95: Longing For Peace of Mind
Friday, October 02, 2009
Doesn't life nowadays frequently seem overwhelmingly hectic and tense?
How often do we wish for the serenity of a mountain morning, birds singing, fog hanging over the valley?
How many times do we wish for the quietude of a beach, warm sand between our toes, as we marvel at the power of the ocean's vastness?
Unfortunately, many of us do not have the luxury of being able to visit mountains or beaches, valley glades or awe-inspiring waterfalls, quiet forests or nature parks or to live close to the majestic colors of a New England countryside.
So, how can we then calm ourselves from the frenetic tempo of our lives?
How about simply sitting and watching the beauty of a sunrise or the grandeur of a sunset?
Or focusing our minds on the greater wonders of the world, letting go of our tension and stress by watching the flight of a multi-hued butterfly, or the gaiety of children on a playground?
Life is busy. Life is hectic.
Don't we deserve to have peace of mind?
What will you do today to achieve it?
