Good news!

Sunday, October 25, 2009

My DH, TC, is on his way home! I'm so excited about that. He left Michigan this afternoon, will be home sometime tomorrow.

More good news -- we sold the house. While TC was busy with the plumber, realtor, heating guy, etc., a neighbor came by to look at the house -- and made an offer!

It was a very poor offer, but after quite a bit of haggling, TC talking to him, them both talking to me on the phone, we finally struck a deal.

It's pitiful what that house is worth, but let's face it -- we have ZERO INTEREST in trying to fix the damn thing up from 1,000 miles away. We could put $20,000 into it and it might be worth $35,000 when we're done. Who knows?

So we sold it, rock bottom, as is, bottom line. We had to take another land contract. Can you believe the house went for $27/square foot? When we bought it in 1992 we paid $42/square foot. What's happened to real estate in industrial southern Michigan is absolutely PAINFUL.

But my DEAR HUSBAND will be back tomorrow, and I am so happy about that. I've got a bad week ahead and I need his steadying presence. Maybe next week I can get back on track.

Congrats... Even though it was a loss, you still gain by having less stress.
You will get back on track, cuz you are worth it.

    HI TG,

I agree with Nancy. It's tough to lose on any investment but the emotional baggage with this situation makes this probably a very good decision.

Sorry you and TC had to go through it but AT LEAST IT"S DONE! and you get TC back.

    Talk to you later.

Congratulations on selling the house - even if you lost money it will stop being a financial, energy and worry drain.

My husband doesn't come home until next Sunday :-(

I am so happy for you that your husband is coming home. I never like it when my husband has to take business trips. I miss him so much. I hate sleeping without him beside me. I hope your week will not be as bad as you think. May God fill your life with his many blessings each and every day. May God Bless You! emoticon
