I have no time to write this so it will be short.

I have had to work late every day this week, and will today and tomorrow as well. Tonight is the faculty training I'm giving -- I've only planned it in myvhead but I think it will be OK. Tomorrow I have to work late because I am on the interview committee for a new business instructor. All of our interviews have to be scheduled around our classes, so they are always late afternoon. The good news is the new faculty will take a part of MY "extra duties" BUT the bad news is we are unimpressed with the applicants so far so it may not happen. Regardless of whether we hire anyone now or not, it's sucking up a lot of time.

This weekend we will have guests. They are coming for lunch on Saturday and will leave Monday. I am busy now trying to plan a menu and shopping list. We'll shop tonight after dinner and I'll have to start cooking tomorrow after dinner.

Don't know when I'll get time to exercise. I'm doing the best I can on the diet this week--at least I'm not eating junk food and I haven't had any alcohol. That probably won't last through the weekend, however.

Next week, in addition to regular duties, meetings, and interviews, we start advising students. I have 20 appointments so far for next week, which of course takes up nearly every free minute of the office hours I use to plan for classes, grade papers, etc.

Then NEXT weekend is our HALF MARATHON! We haven't done any training since TC left for Michigan 10 days ago, but we're still going to go and do our best. If I could undo signing up for that I would!

I know I'm running a one-woman pity party here, but I ask you! Where is the time for ME? Where is the time I can concentrate on what I NEED?

I'm just doing my best, putting one foot in front of the other, doing one task at a time. OK, this wasn't short after all, but I feel a little better!

    Hey TG,

I'm tired just reading your blog. I agree with Makambo see if you can find even 15 - 20 minutes of quite time just to meditate or relax. You will need it for you sanity.

As far as exercise maybe you'll have to be satisfied with whatever spontaneous exercise you can get. I wouldn't force the gym right now unless you really need it for a stress reliever and to get some "quite time"

The rest - just stay the course the best you can and we'll be here for you. I don't envy you right now.

One final thought - maybe you should not do the half marathon. I know you lose your fee but that's a sunk cost anyway - if it's going to add more stress to your life maybe you just write it off so you get some "me" time.

You take it easy - stay safe and stay SANE - we need you back at some point.

It's a step forward to realize that you have no time for yourself and that you SHOULD always have time for yourself. With that preoccupation in mind, you will try to find a few minutes (even 2 minutes!) to close your eyes and visualize your goals. Even that could be helpful... And then next week, you could try to block out at least 30 minutes once in a while for yourself. I know how difficult it can be to find that precious time.. but I hope you find it!! emoticon
