Walking Can Be Fun

Well I never ever thought I'd say this but, today I walked two miles at a fairly brisk pace and I didn't feel tired. In fact, I felt pretty good. Maybe this Strength Training and cardio-Stuff is working on this old geezer?
So tomorrow is my Gym Session with my Personal Trainer. I started this about two weeks ago and go twice a week. By this time next year I want to be about 2/3rds the guy I am today! Gosh it will be great to look down and actually see my toes again !!! Now I don't plan to be Atlas but heck at least I won't look like a barrel of beer.
And I think I'm getting the hang of this food thing too. It isn't so much about calories as it is about what you eat. Portion sizes are the important thing along with how you cook your food and what you stuff in your mouth. There are good calories and bad calories. Yes you want to stay under your target to lose the pounds but eating healthy is the important thing. And then there's the exercise.
So every time I look down at this round bulge, I keep imagining it not being there next year. And that keeps me focused even if the scale doesn't always reflect my goals.
