Catching up!

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

I tried this earlier and the whole thing crashed! Here goes...

I sure enjoy Spark People. Even on a bad day, you guys give me something to look forward to even if it's just logging my fitness and surfing around thru everyone's page...Thanks to all of my SP friends!!

My friend Tammy took me on a trail ride this weekend. We picked Chester up from the trainer and went to a local state park. I wasn't sure how he'd be after 10 months of hard dressage training but he was PERFECT! What a blast we had--even cantered a bit and he didn't flash back to his days in the hunt.

As for my weightloss, I derail myself every weekend but have been sticking to a healthy diet during the week and lots of exercise all week. Keeps my weight generally on a great big plateau (could be worse, I know!) I decided that my weekend eating is closely linked to drinking a few beers or a margarita--then I don't watch what I eat. I joined the Cut the Alcohol Challenge which dictates no alcohol during the week (not a problem) and limits on the weekend. Turns out, that's harder

Now I'm going AF (alcohol-free) till Thanksgiving as a push to keep up with Kathleen and PalominoGirl!! I'm still 10 pounds from my original SP goal--when the weight was coming off fast. it seemed as though I'd be ahead of schedule, but it does get slower as you go. I really need to shake things up a bit!

By the way, those of you who are wondering about the $5 bill in the dog poop--no, my husband is not out looking for the other half, but if it had been a $100 he would be emoticon

Seriously, I love you guys and look forward each day to seeing who's up to what and who stopped by with humor, encouragement, thanks, etc. It's great! Thanks!

Great pics! Chester looks fabulous, and you look so little on him! Glad you had a great ride - can't wait to do that myself! Our SP friends are awesome, and really do help to keep motivation going when things get tough, so we are here for you! Glad you are determined to join PALOMINOGIRL3 and me on the 10 lb. Nov. challenge - I'm confident that you can break your plateau with some extra weekend effort! I've mixed things up a bit and it has helped me on the weekends - I keep very busy, I THINK about everything that goes in my mouth and ask "will this help me meet my goal?", and I moved my weigh-ins to Monday mornings for that extra push. So far, so good! YOU CAN DO IT!

Cindy - you and I have almost the same problem. I have issues with keeping on track over the weekend. But we always make a huge Sunday breakfast with pancakes, eggs, bacon (turkey bacon of course), sausage... You get the idea... Yeah, that derails my weekend every time. I love the huge breakfast.

Yes it can be hard sometimes. I have been spending a lot of time in the saddle the last two months and not a lot of time hiking. Good news is my horse is improving bad news is I have been eating like I do when I hike a lot and I need to get my act together. Now with the holidays it is making it even harder. My friends are having parties and it is hard especially when they go out of their way to have them in the middle of the week when I am off.
I really wish I didn't like chocolate and peanut butter so much lol.
I am glad you had a nice ride. I have been riding with different people. I have standing riding dates on tuesday's, wednesday's and sunday's right now besides going to the trainer once a week. It is keeping me real busy. I figure the weather will get icky sooon enough.
    Take care

I had a bad day today... I was feeling very down about myself, my weight loss (or lack thereof) and this 10 lb challenge that I SO badly want to succeed in! But I know I can always come to my Spark Friends for some encouragement. I m so glad I have met my little group of friends here at Spark People. I don't know where I'd be without you all. Well, actually I know EXACTLY where I'd be... On the couch, eating donuts and pork rinds, complaining about how FAT I am! Thank YOU, Cindy for posting this blog. I think you are FABULOUS!
