Yesterday was performance day. With exception of the usual performance oopsies, everyone did well. I didn't forget anything in either routine! The new girl in our class was also going for the "tribal" look so it was nice not to be the only one not in Cabaret-style costume. My friend Mindy said she is looking into more tribal stuff now - so maybe we will slowly take over...
I had a big surprise yesterday after the performance. I had a complete stranger come up to ME and tell me I was "really good." When she asked how long I had been dancing and I said 2 years, she was very surprised. So that was a huge compliment
On the way home, I was telling hubby how my next goal is to learn sword but our class isn't supposed to start that for another year. He suggested I go ahead and buy a sword and learn how to just walk around with it, then start practicing on my own. I think it's a great idea, though it makes me a tad nervous... walking around with a blade with a pointy end on my head...
Hubby also pointed something out in a photo he took. He pointed to a spot on my hip above my belt and said something akin to "see that? You're getting that chiseled thing! But see that? Still a little butt pooch. You're getting there!" So a good thing and a goal thing!
Later in the day I got a fabulous massage from our friend Molly who is in training to become a therapist. So far she is almost as good as our favorite therapist (who had to change careers) but still does need to practice. I felt soooo good afterward, and hope to get in to see her again before we head to out for the holidays.
Hubby seems really jazzed about our new workout schedule. I came up with a plan for the next twelve weeks, though two of those weeks will be off-kilter due to the holidays. Regardless we now have a checklist of when we work out, and it's on the fridge to keep ourselves accountable.
This week I hope to sneak in some me-time. I still need to get work done but with many folks gone from my client site for the holiday, and hubby working full time except Thursday, things will be fairly quiet. I have hardly gotten through the first chapter of my "energy performance" book and that is my first goal, along with a few other things around the house.
Heigh ho, heigh ho, it's off to work I go!
