Recovering from the mire

Monday, December 07, 2009

I finally, FINALLY am starting to come out of the cold, the one in my head that is. I am still tired but chilling out all weekend helped me recover even more.

Tonight is dance class - and yes I will go though I will likely head to bed early. The teacher's room is usually quite cold so I plan to bundle up tonight and wear nice thick socks.

Focusing on following our meal plan this week. Last night even though we went out for dinner I had a salad and baked potato. Yes I had plenty of butter and sour cream but it was my first junk food all week. Today for lunch I am making tuna melts and as soon as I finish blogging I will start a big batch of slow cooker turkey chili. Yummy!

We still have yet to go climbing or to the gym - maybe we will go this week? Hubby's schedule really does mess us up here. I am not sure how to get him to commit. If clients are here, it's virtually impossible to get him away, and if we are sick well then we are both out of commission. I need to get him to focus on leaving "work" at 4:00 two days a week so we can get in shape. Granted he knows it's his own fault if he does not go, but I need an accountability partner too.

Cold has been gripping our area for days now. The wood stove is chugging away and eating into our wood supply quickly - probably will have to buy a cord come February. I am so lucky to be able to work right in front of the stove - thank god for laptops!

2010 is right around the corner and while I am no believer in "New Years Resolutions" it will be a good time to get back on the exercise wagon. Mostly because the holidays will be over, and things in general settle down to something more like normalcy. My work schedule won't be terribly busy (I hope I can keep my contractor somewhat busy) so I can focus on working out and getting the remodel solidly underway (another form of working out). I have been very good about eating and not drinking alcohol (mainly because I have to with my tummy troubles) so remodeling the house and my body seem like a good next step! I'll have to come up with a regular schedule to work it all in, but that is always a good idea to keep on top of goals.
