I'm Back

Friday, December 18, 2009

I had to take a break from Spark during November and early December. I realised it was becoming more about getting the points and not doing the program. Logging on Spark became a chore and not something fun. I have a very competitive streak and to me it became about getting as many points as possible not supporting and being supportive. I decided that stepping back was a good idea. I have during this time been keeping up with eating healthy and exercising. I've also been logging on every day and spinning the wheel. This and reading the e-mails has kept me accountable enough to the program while getting my head straight again.

I want to thank those who have contacted me in this time. I have been reading and I really appreciate your support.

Life is slowing down some now. I finished my placement a few weeks ago and I am now wrapping up the last few things for school for the term. Then I am taking a break from school over the holidays. Next term should be interesting since I have signed up for 37.5 credit hours (30 is considered full time).

I am also looking forward to taking part in the Spark People Bootcamp in January and the release of the Spark Book at the end of the month. And finally I am looking forward to reconnecting with Spark again!!

Welcome back girl! You and are are so much alike in our competitive streaks that I have found myself doing the same exact thing. Recently I noticed it is all about the points and I was becoming a bit OCD on making sure I got the maximum points for the day... even if I didn't pay attention to where I was clicking.

Glad to see you are back on track! Can't wait to see you in 2011!

I'm so glad you're back!!! How did your student teaching placement go? Any bigger successes, challenges?

I'm kind of curious about the structure of your education department -- in Vermont, student teaching is the very last part of your program, so no more classes after you successfully complete your student teaching. Do you do multiple teaching terms, or do you just do it earlier?

I hope you're enjoying your holiday vacation -- my school doesn't even go on break until Christmas Eve!!! Stay active! emoticon
