#177: Why A Positive Attitude?

Wednesday, December 23, 2009

I was talking with a long-time friend recently about positive thinking. Compared to him I'm a slackard in that area. But in my mind I'm a pretty positive person most of the time.

Sure, there are times that frustration, even a touch of depression, slips in but those times don't last long.

I wondered why.

Perhaps it's because I know there can't be only this life to live through, that there has to be more after we've passed on.

Perhaps it's because I believe there is a grand plan in place for my life that has yet to fully reveal itself to me.

Perhaps it's simply easier to be upbeat and optimistic than down and dreary.

Regardless, I try to look on the bright side of things and try daily to enjoy the wonders of life and nature that surround us.

How about you? Do you consider yourself mostly positive, neutral or negative? Why do you think that is? What is your outlook on life?

I'm a very positive person. I get aggravated with negative people.

I, like you, have always considered myself positive. Yet, once in awhile I meet someone that makes me say, "whoa! I have a ways to go yet!" Yes, the Bible TELLS us to be positive...and why. We are so blessed to be Believers and even though we have tribulations in life, we KNOW that God is in command and is more than ABLE.
I love your blogs, Lou...hope there are many more in the New Year!

Merry Christmas...God Bless you this season and EVERY season!

My outlook has been getting better and better as my children scare me less often with their choices, I trust God more, and last but not least, become more physically and nutritionally healthy.

I desire to change the order of that, but that is the honest answer. I plan to trust God more, live healthy, and pray that my children will become closer to God and make wise choices.

Merry Christmas, Lou. You are an inspiration. Your friend, Lori
