New day, fresh slate!

Saturday, December 26, 2009

The past few days have been glorious. It was a wonderful Christmas Eve! My Family came over and we had a lovely Christmas Eve. When they left, my brother and I wrapped gifts and cleaned up. At 1 am Dana and I stuffed the turkey and got it in the oven by 1:30 am. By the time everything was done, I was in bed at 2:30 am.
We got up and ready to open presents at 8:30. My daughter Jacqui wanted to open earlier, but we refused! We could smell the 44 lb turkey cooking already. Coffee was heaven. My husband surprised me by getting me snow shoes. He did a great job!
Although I was a little grouchy about the BIL giving me a 44 lb turkey to cook. By 2 in the afternoon it was finished and dinner was splendid. My counter and our tables were covered in dishes and food. Daylight was burning, now it is 3. I have about an hour of sunlight. I excuse myself from the gathering. And I take my dog outside and off we go for a hike. Dana helps me with the snowshoes and gives me a kiss goodbye.
I go for a nice hour hike. I go up and down the hills and my new snow shoes work fine!
700 calories and hour to snow shoe.
When I got back to the house the dishes and leftovers were still waiting for me. I was glad I went for my hike. Getting ready to go for another hike now! Want to use them before the rain comes!
I did go to w.watchers today and gained 3 lbs, but I am still moving, and it will come off!
I hope everyone is moving.

Good job on the snow shoeing; it's great you were able to get out and get some time to yourself.

Everything was great!!! I am sure I put on weight too, especially due to the cookies that I ate. I think I had enough to feed the whole town. But damn Jeanne is such an awesome chef that her cookies were tooooooo good to resist or even want to. I am done now too, Jeanne. I am looking fwd to snowshoeing with you. Maybe this week will be good to us. :) Who'd thunk I was looking fwd to being out in the snow and cold. teehee. Love ya and thanks for a beautiful Christmas!!!

Always wanted to try snow shoes, but probably won't. I get enough walking in just walking the dogs & shoveling our very large driveway!

Glad you're moving & WI'd -- even if there's a gain, we always do better knowing it. And I'll bet it's just a temporary blip.
