Enjoying my holiday vacation...a little to much

Sunday, December 27, 2009

I have been soooo enjoying my vacation, baking cookies for my family (which I haven't done for the past 2 years - just didn't want all that temptation). I got to visit with my gram - who just moved back from living in Utah for the past few years and my brother whom I haven't seen for 5 years, he totally didn't recognize me!! I've got to sleep in, I can't even remember the last time the alarm didn't scare me out of a dead sleep. We went on a out of town shopping spree, my first since losing weight, it was wonderful! However I managed to pick up 10 extra pound on the way...I haven't exercised in over a week, I have been eating every Christmas cookie in sight, I even bought a donut from Sheetz yesterday for no other reason than just to eat it!!! My BF says I deserve some time off, he says I know exactly what to do to get back on track and I know he's right. I just can't believe how easy it was to let myself go, to get to this point once again. BUT what I do know is that I am not alone on this journey and I WILL NOT beat myself up over this. I had an fantastic holiday and I would not trade that for anything in the world!!
I do have a plan....along with 10 pounds santa brought me a new exercise bike and an MP3 player (as soon as i figure out how to use it lol) The goodies are almost gone and I am heading out to the grocery store today to stock up on all my favorite go to foods. I will take this one day at a time....can't wait to give those 10 pounds back!!

I hope all my Spark friends had a wonderful holiday and I wish everyone a safe and healthy new year!!!!

A lot of us are in the same boat. Much of it has to be water and shouldn't be too hard to get rid of. We can get back on track, just focus on what made you successful in the beginning and do it again.

You've done a great job and will do it again. emoticon

The one good thing is the 10 lbs can't possibly be a real weight gain - unless you really think you ate an extra 35,000 calories (though it does seem possible during the holidays!). It's just the change in your routine, and once you get back into the normalcy you will lose it quickly. And i sooooo am with you! Though there are so many treats left, and it's going to be hard to avoid them (as much as possible), i'm going to try and get in some freggies at least, which i've avoided for awhile. Anyway, good for you in not beating yourself up!!!! You'll be back to normal soon!

The holidays can trip us up a little, but you are on the right track. Best wishes in the new year.
