This has been a very trying year. I once again hd my thyroid cancer return, I gained all the weight back I had previsouly lost, been through a break up and had the death of a good friend of mine last week. Im going to be 40 in 2010 and would like to be in a bikini by then and look great in Rockies!!!

That does sound like a rough year. I am sorry about your friend. I too had thyroid cancer. I had surgery in 2007 and treatment in 2008. I was already fat, but I gained another 15 pounds. It was so depressing to me. I completely understand what you are saying. I actually got to a point where I was just convinced that I could not lose weight. I actually said to people that I was just destined to be fat and there was nothing I could do. The more hopeless I felt, the harder it was to even try to be healthy. You are doing the right thing by joining SP. It is truly an amazing site. Log in every day, even if you feel bad about yourself and even if you overate. It really does help. Join some groups and some challenges. And, remember that your health is the most important- so take care of yourself and do everything the doctors tell you beat the thyroid cancer-- don't spend your energy being down because of your weight. The weight loss will come- slowly is fine.
