This morning I am enjoying my alone time with everyone in the house sleeping. I am doing my spark time and reading blogs. They all scream New Years Resolutions. This year to me is a different feeling about New Years. For the past 18 years I have made the empty resolution to lose weight. In 2009 I actually did something about it. Normally, by the end of january, the fire in my belly would be gone. And it would be filled with the garbage that I ate to keep my unhealthy. In 2009, i DID NOT GIVE UP ON MYSELF.
When I reached a hurdle it was always easier to quit, then to forge. So what would happen?
And failure hurts. Sometimes it prevents us from trying to succeed again. "If you always do what you have always done you will always get what you have always gotten." Really think about it.
So I always would start a resolution and then quit.
So this is the year in review.....
Me at 237. I hate myself.
Finish a biggest loser challenge in March. Lost 21 pounds!!!!
Climbed Mount Monadnock with a group of friends. 3200 feet of hiking!
The loss of my Mother in law. Now she was a fun loving lady that shot clay pigeons in her bikini and never let her weight hold her back!
Climbed Mount Watatic 1800 ft with Amy. Love that hike. Can't wait to do it in snow shoes!
I dealt with a foot injury. Plantar faciiatis. Went through physical therapy and trained for a sprint triathlon at the same time!
I completed a virtual trek across the English Channel. 740 laps at the pool. I am in the process of doing a virtual ironman right now. I have 2 sprint tri's that I have planned to do next summer!
A year ago, I never would have dreamed that I could accomplish what I have done in 2009.
I would like to take a moment to thank my biggest spark fans. My spark friends. I encourage you to check out some of my friends pages. They are amazing.
So Now that I have showered with you with my 2009 success' what is in store for 2010?

1. I need to journal. I am lazy with this one and accountability is needed. I need to do his and now that I have dsl, there is no excuse on why I can not track what I am putting in my mouth.
2. continue to go to w.watchers with my brother. He needs my support. And it couldn't hurt for me to go.
3. Meal plan. I must do it. I always slack in his area. I want to meal plan at least 5 nights a week. Plan to succeed.
4. Continue my cardio work outs of 4-5 days a week. Strength train 3 days a week.
5. Get continued strength by sparking.
those are my goals. By following my plan I hope to finish my weight loss journey this year and reach the world called maintenance!
