Flipping my reasons for losing weight

Thanks to all of my spark friends who commented on my last set of blogs about the reasons I want to lose weight.

Through your comments I've realized how NEGATIVE my reasons were. AND, how unkind and unloving I am to myself! Even more importantly I've realized that almost all of my reasons for losing weight focus on my personal faults or are about ending emotiuonal pain or distress. None of my reasons (except the health one) is about the POSITIVES I'll gain when I'm at a healthy weight.

I've thought a lot about this, and it's time to rewrite my cards. Rather than writing about the negatives that I will be putting an end to, or avoiding, I'm going to focus on the positives that will be coming my way. I want to quit thinking about all the shame and the shortcomings and start focusing on the good things that are just around the corner!

So thanks for the help in making me see that instead of running away from the dark I should focus on running to the light.

    Well as you know I've been a big fan of your "reasons" and didn't find them negative so much as candid and frank with yourself in a way that resonated with me too . . .

    But if the process has resulted in a fundamental shift and a different perspective, then it worked for you!
