Week in Review - 1

The first week of my TOPS "Reach for the Stars Challenge" has flown by! I've concentrated on tracking my calories, regardless of how ugly it would be, getting into the gym more than just 3 days/week, and increasing the water intake and decreasing the Diet Mt. Dew intake. I've been successful on all fronts!
This past weekend was really ugly when it came to the calorie totals, though. Normally, that is enough to stop me from entering those foods because I dont' want to see how much caloric damage I've done. I prefer to guesstimate and convince myself that "it wasn't so bad." Hahaha...WRONG! It WAS so bad.
Part of the problem was that I made the decision to order Dominos for dinner on Saturday. The TV was filled with the commercials touting their new pizzas and, hey, if you don't like it, you get all of your money back! Win-win! Not really.
We ordered medium pizzas but the place was so busy that they screwed up and accidentally made larges. So we got a "bargain." Yeah. A calorie-laden bargain. And I made sure to scarf down as much as possible so that I could be sure if I like their new pizza or not. I'm not going to divulge exactly how much I ate, because I'm embarrassed enough, but suffice it to say I put a nice dent in one of the pies. Ugh!
And sadly, the taste is just as ehhh as their previous creations. It wasn't fantastically great, but it wasn't horrible either. Just ok.
But enough of beating thyself up. More good things that I did this week were to make better food decisions on the other days. My husband took me out to lunch on Friday and I chose a restaurant where I knew I could get a grilled chicken with a side salad and it would be delicious and healthy. I really wanted to go to the Mexican restaurant and drown myself in Chimichangas. But I had to choose the place that would get me closer to my goals.
And that was the question I tried to constantly ask myself this week, "Will doing/eating X get you closer to or further from your goals?" And "Will this help you will $100 or will it allow someone else to do so?"
I have to face the scales tonight, so we'll see how this first week went. I'm a little anxious because my abs are still incredibly sore from the 100-110 sit ups I decided to do on Saturday. I'm concerned that they may be a little swollen and retaining some fluid. But we'll see. Not much I can do to change anything I've done at this point. I would deep-six the pizza, but I would still have done the sit ups.
UPDATE: I lost 1.4 lbs tonight! WOO!
