I stay so tired with no motivation

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

I have recently started a new med for depression and have no energy or motivation now whatsoever. I stay sleepy most of the time and find myself laying down with my daughter almost every nap time. She is now 7 months old and I thought my energy would have returned since having her but no. I force myself to do my exercise tapes but even after doing them I feel worse than before. Any ideas on what to do?

I've recovered from depression myself so I know it will get better, just give it time.

Yep, like they said-talk to your dr and hang in there cos it does take time for your body to adjust. Keep doing the good things you're doing too with exercising and taking time for yourself (napping with your lovely daughter:) emoticon

I have had the same problem, seems that it takes some anti depressions some time to work. Hang in there things will get better. If they don't call your doctor, he or she will be able to adjust dosage to help.

I am sorry you are having such a difficult time. I'd check with the Dr. as far as you being even more tired. Some antidepressants will do that. Sometimes your body just needs to adjust. It can take up to a month to begin to feel the difference. Or sometimes a different dosage is required. I have been there..Hang in there. It will get better. Ask for help or if you cn get some help for the house.
