Start Small Fast Break
Tuesday, January 26, 2010
As I reflect back over my last 10 months I am flooded with memories of my small fast break goals I set and how they are still a huge part of my daily lifestyle today.
My first nutritional fast break goal was to give up soda, completely and cold turkey. I found giving up diet pepsi much easier than I ever imagined, I never dreamed I could go one day let alone 10 months without my diet pepsi, but I have not missed it once. By giving up diet pepsi I found myself easily consuming my 8-10 glasses of water every day. I also gave myself a small goal of prepalnning my meals the night before to avoid any wrong impulse choices and as I logged my daily food I quickly saw how much I could eat when they were the right choices.
My small fitness goal was to exercise 3 days per week. I went out and bought myself a new DVD set and got started. I slowly added to my workouts and now I am working out 6-7 days per week, 3 times per day and loving it. I live to exercise and no longer live to eat. I find myself fueling my body with food to get me through my next workout and my body is loving me for this.
My small goals are constantly changing as I find the old one becoming a natural part of my new lifestyle. I add in something new all the time as I have found it is true setting goals is the secret to motivation and staying on track. My new fitness goal for this year, to train and enter my first 5K. Again last year this time I could not get off the floor after playing with my grandson, without my husbands help and today I am training for my first 5K how awesome does life get.
Sparks has given me back my life and I am so thankful to them. I have a new found energy that I never dreamed possible and I am loving my new healthier lifestyle.
