I was trying to find an adjective for my status yesterday that described how I felt -- and EXUBERANT was it!
For the first time in MANY weekends, I've felt strong and confident that I am in the groove. It's about staying focused IN THE MOMENT, and I've been doing just that!
I need to credit several things, not the least of which is the unwavering support from all of my peeps on Sparkpeople. The support and accountability is SO IMPORTANT TO ME. I love checking in with people every day and having people check in on me. It helps. Whether I'm commiserating, giving advice, giving kudos, celebrating with someone, whatever, IT HELPS.
This week Freelady shared her "Beck cards" with us. They really resonated with me. Her cards are all "in the moment" cards that make me feel good THIS SECOND about making a good choice. For example, "Cravings will go away. I am strong. I don't have to give in to them."
That's a comforting and rational thought where my thoughts regarding food very often are NOT rational. That statement renews my resolve RIGHT NOW, THIS SECOND. My own cards were more negative, futuristic and shame-based: "I will stop comparing myself to everyone in the room." Hey, that's a downer!!

Vandal and I have a challenge not to have any alcohol in February, and Nancy15 and I are challenging each other to get into the 150's. This extra twist is really helping me stay motivated!
Biglittlewoman ALWAYS has good insight and interesting comments (not putting too much pressure on you, now am I?), and she's right -- my weekend did NOT have any fun built in. So I'm going to make a special effort to do that this month. AND, I am going to get those Skinny Cow Truffle bars today! Thanks for looking out for me!
I get the "Team Digests" every Sunday morning and for many weeks I deleted all of them without opening BUT one week I checked out the rankings and found I WAS ON THE LEADERBOARD FOR FITNESS MINUTES! This week I am number 11 in fitness minutes on the Healthier Arkansas team, and on the Beck Diet solution team, NANCY is #2 for fitness minutes, I'm #5, Vandal is #15, and BLW is #21! I THINK THAT IS PRETTY COOL and very motivating!
So YES, I am exuberant and I'm riding this wave and enjoying every second of the ride!
I've got a big day planned but a good day, and I'm wishing the same for each and every one of you. This is a challenging journey we're on, but the rewards are going to be so sweet! Keep up the great work!
