#227: Every Day is a Contest to Win

I ran across this quote today:
"We improve ourselves by victories over ourself. There must be contests, and you must win." Edward Gibbon
It got me thinking that this sums up our journeys to weight loss and better health. We are in a fight for fitness and must battle hard every meal, every exercise and every day to win.
If we are to be successful, we will accomplish little if we attack our program with a wishy-washy attitude.
We need to be firm and resolute in our endeavor. We must tell ourselves, and believe it, that we are in a duel for our lives.
Every day is indeed a new contest for us to win or lose, one meal, one exercise, one positive day at a time.
Let us gird ourselves against the enemy of overeating and under exercising. Let us arm ourselves with knowledge and fortitude in order to emerge victorious.
Every day is a contest to win.
We CAN do this. We CAN overcome. We CAN hang tough.
If we do, we surely will become victorious and watch our unwanted pounds disappear into the night.
Win one for the Gipper? How about winning one for ourselves? One day at a time.
