Hypothermic Half Marathon 2010
Friday, February 19, 2010
I'm not really sure how to describe last Sunday. I woke up exhausted because I hadn't slept well the night before. You know... pre-race jitters should be gone at this point in my running career but apparently NOT. I was awake and ready to leave the house by 7:30. (Race started at 9:00) The temperature was hovering somewhere around -8 but, here in Calgary and especially down by the Bow River, you got to assume that there's going to be a windchill. Still, it was a warmer run than Kelowna =)
Complaint #1 - two portapotties for over 150 runners.
Complaint #2 - um, oh wait! the portapotties were on a slant... forward LOL
Other than that, the course, the company, the weather..... the FOOD!! it was all good. I grabbed a few photos:
I finished the run in 2:19:05 - this met my "B" goal. I always set three and so far, it's been working for me. I've never been disappointed in my finish times. This was my 13th half marathon. My 8th as an instructor. My 4th Hypothermic Half.....
and now we're training for the Big Run.
Down time? what's that?
**bonus** Richard bought me a spa package for my birthday. I'm heading there tomorrow for a hot stone massage, pedicure and facial. I'm a spoiled princess
